A fossil-free value chain for iron and steel starts in the mine. In the HYBRIT Demonstration project LKAB will make process adjustments to one pellet plant in Gällivare to enable production of fossil-free iron ore DR-pellets to the H-DR process. This includes meeting a higher iron content specification, adding other additives to enable sufficient reduction and melting properties of the H-DRI in the EAF processing.
